Dom Smaz

Dom Smaz (*1983) is a Swiss-Brazilian photographer who is based in Lausanne and often works in Brazil. He is a five-time winner of the Swiss Press Award and regularly contributes to Swiss and international media. His photographs often deal with the themes of colonial heritage, social differences and marginalization. In 2018, he took part in the show Mobile Worlds, mounted by the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe (MK&G), Hamburg, in partnership with the Johann Jacobs Museum, Zurich. In 2019, part of his Helvécia project was featured at the Festival Internacional de Fotografia of Bogotá, Colombia. Smaz graduated from Vevey’s School of Photography and is a member of the French photography agency Hans Lucas.
