Jakob Tanner (*1950) is Professor Emeritus of modern history at the University of Zurich. He is the author of several books on the history of Switzerland in the European context and of publications on the history of drugs, medicine, the body, and nutrition. Tanner is founding member of the History of Knowledge Center (ETH Zurich and University of Zurich) and co-editor of the journal «Historische Anthropologie».
